Charles Barkley goes for broke, yells to Brandi Chastain: ‘why don’t you take your top off?’ | Off the Bench
Dispatches from the American Century Golf Championship at Lake Tahoe: It’s the middle of the first round today and Charles Barkley is already in championship form. Oh, his game stinks as per usual, but his mouth is in superb shape. He’s in a group with Ray Romano and Brian Baumgartner (Kevin from The Office), and as usual Barkley is afforded the latest starting time possible: 11:25 a.m. (PST). Brandi Chastain is also here, and she was with the first group out at 8:25. So she and playing partner Kevin Nealon ran into Barkley & Co. as she was about to tee off on No. 10, and Barkley was at the adjacent No. 1 tee.
Joe Proudman of the Tahoe Daily Tribune was there, and caught this Barkley quote:
“Always looking good Brandi, why don’t you take your top off?”

Man Accidentally Shoots His Own Genitals | NBC 7 San Diego
An Oklahoma man accidentally shot himself in the groin, and getting help made matters worse.Tavares Donnell Colbert, a convicted drug dealer, told officers he intended to sell a gun at a convenience store after buying it in Kansas, NewsOK.com reported.While testing the gun to ensure it functioned properly, the 36-year-old shot his groin, and immediately drove to the hospital, police said he told them.He was arrested for illegal firearm possession after treatment because he wasn’t allowed to carry a gun as a convicted felon, the paper reported.

Hard Rock Calling 2012: England a ‘police state’, says Bruce Springsteen guitarist – Telegraph
Steven Van Zandt, a guitarist in Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band, has accused England of becoming “police state” after “The Boss” and Sir Paul McCartney were silenced for breaching a council curfew at Hard Rock Calling.

Man spots his car stolen in 1970 on eBay – Emirates 24/7
A US man whose prized sports car was stolen 42 years ago recovered the vehicle after spotting it on eBay, authorities said on Sunday.
Robert Russell told the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department that he had never given up searching for the 1967 Austin Healy after it was stolen from his Philadelphia home in 1970.
Russell recently spotted what he thought was his car on eBay and checked the vehicle identification number on the website with the one on the car’s title certificate, finding they were a match, the department said in a news release.
Russell, who now lives in Texas, contacted the department in May, and Detective Carlos Ortega tracked down the car in East Los Angeles.
“Detective Ortega located the stolen Austin Healey at the dealership listed in the eBay ad and confirmed that the car was the same vehicle reported stolen by Mr. Russell,” the department said.

The UFO Files: Alien sightings in Britain – Telegraph
UFO sighting have been reported in dozens of locations across Britain, with silver suited “faceless humanoids” in West Wales and suspicious-looking “men in black” in Lincolnshire, according to Ministry of Defence documents.
The documents, published by the National Archives for the first time today, detail a bizarre list of weird and wonderful alien sightings.
They include abductions, shape-shifting objects at a Chelsea football ground and one report from a 1950s pilot who said his experience of a “brightly illuminated object” had been accepted as “quite routine”.
The 6,700 pages of documents, compiled by the Ministry of Defence in relation to UFOs and extraterrestrials, have now been published online.
One describes a host of alien sighting in West Wales during 1977, with local MP Nicholas Edwards complaining he had been “inundated” with reports from constituents.

The youngster is an official toy tester for TOMY and spends hours playing with the hottest gadgets and games around.
Her job involves testing and rating the products which get sent to her door throughout the year.
The Kent schoolgirl also gets to keep everything she gets sent to add to her toy collection.
‘Jessica absolutely loves trying out all of the new toys and she’s certainly aware of how lucky she is,’ explained her mum Jessica.
‘At first she just enjoyed getting new things to play with but now she realises what she’s doing and that what she says could impact whether or not a toy actually makes it into the shops.
‘She likes the fact that she gets to try things out before other children and that her opinion counts.’
TOMY marketing manager Joanne Gray added: ‘We think it is vitally important to get consumer feedback on our products throughout the stages of development.
‘That way, we can make sure that when that product arrives on a toy store shelf that it absolutely delivers against expectations.

Bill Gates, Microsoft Founder, Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, Each Donate $100,000 For Marriage Equality
Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer are coughing up a bit of cash for marriage equality.
According to the Associated Press, Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, and Ballmer, the company’s CEO, have each written $100,000 checks to Washington United for Marriage, a same-sex marriage advocacy group based in Seattle.
In February, Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire signed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage in the state, and the law was to go into effect on June 7. But that was put in hold last month when opponents gathered enough signatures to put the the bill up for referendum in the November general election.
According to its website, Washington United for Marriage “is a coalition of organizations, congregations, unions, and businesses working together to defend civil marriage for loving, committed same-sex couples.”
A Microsoft spokesperson told The Huffington Post that the company doesn’t comment on political contributions made by employees, including the CEO.
