Semen ‘good for women’s health, helps fight depression’ – Odd News – Digital Spy
Research from The State University of New York has found that semen can elevate women’s mood.
Scientists studied the ‘mood-altering chemicals’ that are found in seminal fluid and found that they have positive effects on women both physically and mentally, reports the Daily Mail.
The survey conducted by scientists compared the sex lives of 293 female subjects to their mental outlook.
The results supported findings that semen contains chemicals that elevate mood, increase affection and induce sleep.
Women who regularly have unprotected sex are overall less depressed and can perform better on cognitive tests, the research found.
Results showed that in general women who are having sex are happier than those who have not had recent sexual activity. However, the level of happiness is seen to be related to the amount of seminal fluid in their body.
The surveys were conducted anonymously using the Beck Depression Inventory, a standard clinical measure of depressive symptoms.
