Koala saved after being found burned and injured after massive forest fire | Metro.co.uk
According to reports, the koala was found by local resident Clint Woods, who spotted him among the debris left by the fire.
He was found sitting in a burnt tree in a scorched field near Port Lincoln in South Australia.
Mr Woods noticed that the koala had burnt paws and singed hair.
He gave the animal some water – which it clearly needed – before it was taken to a local animal hospital.
The fire, which started Sunday, was still burning and threatening a town near Port Lincoln, although firefighters had begun to get it under control by Monday night.
Although it has destroyed seven homes in the area there are no casualties reported so far.
